Live Nation, the world largest concert promoter contacted me to redesign their online ticketing application. This was an extremely complex mechanism, coordinating ticket for thousands of events sales through venue box offices, ticketing outlets, customer service reps, and online sales. I designed a light weight, extremely flexible, and gracefully branded interface that could present Live Nation as the entertainment juggernaut they are while serve thousands of customers hammering the site at once to get tickets to their favorite show. Unfortunately this project has been indefinitely shelved due to Live Nations merger with Ticket Master. While this project will never be launched, I hope it can serve as an example that large scale content management systems can be well designed and branded while still meeting all of their functional requirements.
This allowed us to create a network based in a virtual fantasy world. Users can roam through neighborhoods, build and customize their own garages, and make new friends in an environment that reflects all the creativity and personality indicative of the Scion lifestyle.

We know you’ve been here. You go to a trade show, you want to attend a workshop, you go to the room it’s listed in your program only to find it’s been moved. I worked on addressing this issue with the worlds largest IT security provider- Symantec.
Through the use of plasma display screens situated through out the convention, we had schedule running off of dynamically driven XML feeds. When workshop need to be moved or rescheduled, only one simple file needed to be changed to automatically update every display.
As an added bonus we were also able to incorporate video and display messaging, putting together a package that removed the need for printed signage altogether. Because the screens could be re-used year after year, it saved printing costs over a three year period, as well as a whole lot of trees.

When NBC asked me to work on the online campaign for the premiere of a new show called “Heroes”, frankly I was a little disappointed. I was hoping get NBC’’s newly acquired Sunday Night Football, and after watching an advanced copy of the Heroes premiere episode, I was sure this would live the standard five episode life span of most TV shows in their premiere run. By the third episode I was as hopelessly hooked as the rest of the world. While I’ve worked on quite a few online campaigns, I think this represents the best of the best. Banner ads tend to be the redheaded step child of the advertising world, but rich media has potential to make advertising into additional content that readers love rather than spam. While all the standard banner sizes for this campaign are present, I also did expandables, interstitials, peelbacks, and wrappers, that add something to the user experience rather than stealing from it.

When the blogging phenomenon caught on fire a few years ago, American Apparel already had a press team working overtime to get news out to rabid legions of fans. We incorporated “The Daily Update” into their existing site to help them send the word farther and faster over the web.

As you can imagine, organizing an online store for a company that has over 10,000 product SKU’s can get a little complicated. We helped American Apparel re-evaluate and re-organize the architecture, user interface, and path to purchase for it’s online retail experience.
Each step from initial landing to finding clothes you need, or just browsing the virtual isles is painstakingly planned out. Careful consideration is given to the translation of the in-store retail experience to it’s online adaptation and the results have been tremendously profitable.
On the back-end, we worked with American Apparel’s development and maintenance teams to standardize work flow and cut down on redundancies. We created style guides and standardized element to keep teams across the room and across the globe all on the same page. In a world where everyone is trying to find an e=commerce answer, American Apparel is leading the way.

W+K Tokyo Labs is an experimental record label founded by Wieden + Kennedy Tokyo. Because of easy access to music via peer to peer networks, W+K Tokyo Labs produces DVD’s with videos, artist interviews, and collector edition art to make a product worth more than a digital download.
The initial influencer DVD was sent out to influential writers, musicians, and cultural icons to establish the label as a force to reckoned with in the musical and artistic communities. This project went on to win “Best in Show” in How Magazines interactive competition and a Canne Lion Award.
